ID: animation-vocabulary.
What it does
Compares your description with a glossary of entrances, transitions, gestures, scrolling and spring animations. Returns the closest term with its definition and explains how to distinguish effects that may look alike. If the glossary has no exact match, states that the proposed name is an approximation.
When to use it
Use it when you know the effect you want but not what to call it in the brief: a panel growing from a button, a list entering in sequence or a surface resisting a drag. It names the effect; design and implementation require a subsequent assignment.
How to use it
Ask for it by name, or invoke it with /animation-vocabulary in Claude Code or $animation-vocabulary in Codex. Describe what appears, where it starts and how it changes, or show a reference. Ask for the name and differences from similar effects; include the chosen term in the interaction brief.
What it delivers
- Glossary term and definition
- Alternative terms and their differences, if any
- Stated limitation when the match is approximate
Example
What is the effect called when a menu seems to grow from the button that opened it?
