ID: better-writing.
What it does
Reads the language already used by the product and keeps terminology consistent throughout the flow. Matches labels to actions, makes links understandable on their own and describes how to recover from errors. An empty state must explain what the section contains and which action populates it. Verification compares each text with the behavior it accompanies.
When to use it
Use it for microcopy in forms, confirmations, settings, success messages and errors. It makes the action on a screen understandable; commercial landing page writing follows copywriting.
How to use it
Ask for it by name, or invoke it with /better-writing in Claude Code or $better-writing in Codex. Provide the action, state, validation rule and product terminology. Also show text from neighboring screens. Request complete strings for each state, with recovery guidance and consistent names.
What it delivers
- Strings for the specified states
- Reasons for changes affecting comprehension or tone
- Check against the actual action
Example
Rewrite the no-results state and the date filter error: explain what to correct and preserve the existing filter names.
