ID: fixing-accessibility.

What it does

Applies checks for accessible names, keyboard interaction, focus, dialogs, semantics, forms and dynamic messages. Identifies the line or fragment causing the problem and proposes a small correction, preferring native HTML and existing accessible primitives. Does not restructure unrelated areas or migrate the UI library to apply a single check.

When to use it

Use it when adding a control or when a defect is reproducible: an unnamed button, lost focus after closing a dialog, or an error not associated with its field. For an extensive flow review, use better-accessibility.

How to use it

Ask for it by name, or invoke it with /fixing-accessibility in Claude Code or $fixing-accessibility in Codex. Specify the file, component and failing behavior. Ask for the precise problem, reason and a minimal correction. After a change, test the keyboard path and announced name or state when these are the intervention criteria.

What it delivers

  • Responsible fragment and consequence
  • Targeted correction
  • Outcome of the relevant check

Example

The icon-only button for removing a filter has no accessible name. Fix it and verify that it is reachable by keyboard.
