ID: better-typography.
What it does
Examines type scale, available weights, heading hierarchy, line height and line length. Checks wrapping, truncation and access to full text; considers changing numbers, variable fonts and content with different reading directions. Reads the rendered result with realistic strings. Text wording belongs to better-writing and contrast measurement to better-colors.
When to use it
Use it when headings, descriptions or numerical values seem unstable or hard to read, or text overflows cards. It also helps define a consistent type scale and verify loaded fonts and weights.
How to use it
Ask for it by name, or invoke it with /better-typography in Claude Code or $better-typography in Codex. Provide fonts, components and representative text, including translations or long values. Specify supported widths. Ask for hierarchy, line height and truncation to be verified in the browser, with any missing checks declared.
What it delivers
- Typography findings with before/after comparisons
- Rules for scale, weights, line height and wrapping
- Checks on the requested strings and viewports
Example
Check card titles and descriptions: use long content, verify hierarchy and make any truncated text accessible.
